Outstanding Military Communicators Honoured

The Worshipful Company of Communicators saw another record turnout at its annual Military Awards at the Honourable Artillery Company in London on Friday evening (September 26).The dinner was attended by over 145 people, including senior representatives from all three Services and the communications industry’s leading professionals.

Winners included Sarah Goldthorpe (Army), Hannah Bourne (Royal Navy), Squadron Leader Reserve Dan Chorley (RAF), and Chloe Hobbs (Civil Service), each recognised for exceptional achievements in telling the stories of service life, leading media campaigns, and supporting international operations. A special commendation went to Major Richard “Ric” Cole RM for his extensive contribution to military media and information operations.

The keynote speech by Lieutenant General Griffiths, Commander of the Army’s Standing Joint Command, underscored the vital importance of communications in defence.

Master Communicator Jason Groves said: “Tonight’s dinner once again honours some of the most outstanding communications professionals in the UK’s Armed Forces and Civil Service. Their work tells the stories of service life, protects reputations and shines a light on the sacrifices made in uniform. Our gratitude for their skill and dedication could not be greater.”


Guests included the Sheriffs Alderman Robert Hughes-Penney and Deputy Keith Bottomley, Alderman Prem Goyal, as well as the Masters of the Worshipful & Honourable Companies of Vintners, Wax Chandlers, Armourers and Brasiers, Cooks, Distillers Air Pilots, & Marketors, the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire Professor Veronica Pickering, and Chartered Institute of Public Relations President-elect Farzana Baduel.
