Pageantry and purpose at St Paul’s: Communicators join spectacular United Guilds Service in the heart of the City

The Communicators joined the United Guilds Service, the annual gathering of the City’s livery movement at a packed St Paul’s Cathedral.

This splendid highlight of the livery year was addressed on Friday by the Lady Mayor, Bishop of London and civic leaders, celebrating the contribution the liveries make to the life of the Square Mile and to communities far beyond it.

First held in 1943 as a sign of solidarity and hope for the City during the Blitz, the United Guilds Service has grown into one of the largest annual gatherings of liverymen and women. Today it is an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to service, fellowship and philanthropy in a changing City of London.
