Marking a Milestone: The Company of Communicators’ First Livery Dinner

Updated: Jun 25

Friday 20 June 2025 was a landmark day in the history of the Company of Communicators, as we celebrated two significant milestones: our admission as a full Livery Company of the City of London, and the 25th anniversary of our founding. We commemorated the occasion with service of thanksgiving, followed by our inaugural Annual Livery Dinner as a worshipful company.

Following an Evensong and Te Deum at the historic City church of St Magnus the Martyr, a Court meeting was held in the Court Room of Painters' Hall where 13 new liverymen were enclothed and one new freeman was admitted to the company.

This was followed by dinner at the magnificent Painters’ Hall.

Entertainment included a performance by soprano Jessica Cale and pianist Berniya Hamie, as well as the Royal Marines Association Ensemble brass quintet.

Our keynote speaker was the Rt Hon Baroness Bottomley of Nettlestone and distinguished guests included our sponsoring Alderman, Professor Michael Mainelli, and the Masters of the worshipful companies of Painter-Stainers, Woolmen, Arbitrators, Information Technologists, and Entrepreneurs.

In his speech Master Communicator Jason Groves said: “From our earliest days my predecessors as Master, and many others, have worked tirelessly to reach this moment. Now, as one of the City’s livery companies, we need to devote our energies and resources into making a difference in the City and wider community. As true value creators, we Communicators need to use the tremendous platform we have built to foster greater collaboration, inspire change, and ensure those from all backgrounds can find their voice.”
