About the event
There will be a 3 course lunch with wine following the United Guilds Service to be held at Tallow Chandlers Hall. The United Guilds Service is an annual special service to mark the work of the Livery Companies in the City of London and it has always been held at St Paul’s Cathedral. It is the pinnacle of the Livery Company year with all the attendant pomp and circumstance. The Lord Mayor, Aldermen and other distinguished City officers, and Masters and Wardens of the Livery companies are present in their robes with Beadles. The Cathedral organist and choir fill the whole building with resplendent music and enlivened celebration. Representatives of the City of London’s 113 Livery Companies, Companies without Livery and Guilds dressed in their splendour are packed into the Cathedral for this service of great ceremony and beautiful music.
