About the Event
We will learn about Iain Anderson’s experiences and challenges “in conversation” with Iana Vidal. Iana is a member of the Company of Communicators and is the Head of Policy and Government Affairs at Innovate Finance. She will curate a conversation with Iain covering how he built Cicero and hearing about his commitment to diversity and inclusion. If there is time, Iain may also be able to talk to us about some of the strategic decisions being faced in geopolitics with Brexit, the relationship with China and the looming US Presidential elections.
The talk has been arranged through the Company of Communicators Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Iain Anderson: Iain is an expert in integrated communications, global political risk and public policy. He has over 25 years’ experience in communications, initially as a business journalist and then as a founding shareholder at Incisive Media. Iain is co-founder and Executive Chairman at Cicero/AMO and focuses on public policy and corporate communications strategy supporting many global FTSE and Fortune 500 blue chip organisations. He provides CEO and Board level counsel. He is a Non-Executive Director of Innovate Finance – the member body for the global fintech sector. He is one of the Financial Times / OUTstanding Global 100 Executives. Iain is immensely proud to be a Stonewall Ambassador.
He regularly contributes to national and international print and broadcast media including Sky News and BBC. He is also contributing Political Editor of Square Mile. Iain is a former Chairman of the Association of Professional Political Consultants and the CIPR Public Affairs group. He is a Fellow of both the CIPR, the PRCA and a member of the Company of Communicators. He was ranked in the top quartile of the Total Politics Top 100 Lobbyists and appears in the PR Week Power Book. CityAM also includes him in the list of “The City’s most influential financial PRs” voted by broadcast and national business editors. He features in the Square Mile “Power 100” list. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute of Business Ethics and served on the Advisory Board of the Queen Elizabeth II Garden in New York from 2012 until 2016.
He is a tennis geek, an Arsenal season ticket holder and an opera nut.
Iana Vidal: Iana is a member of the Company of Communicators and is the Head of Policy and Government Affairs at Innovate Finance. She leads the organisation’s engagement with government, regulators and other key stakeholders in the UK, to influence policy and regulation that supports and promotes FinTechs and innovation in financial services. Iana has extensive experience across a range of policy areas and has previously worked for professional bodies and in the charity sector.
