Considering Joining?

These are challenging times for the
communications profession but the
pandemic has shown the fortitude and
creativity of communicators across all sectors.

At a time when the importance of the profession has proved so crucial to the City of London and the nation as a
whole, we are continuing to expand our membership, bringing a diverse set of perspectives to our work.

How to join

Membership is a two-stage process that starts with an initial application made via the form below.

When making the application if you do not have a proposer or seconder who are Company members then please contact the Clerk first to arrange at clerk@companyofcommunicators.org. Applications are processed and discussed by the Court's Membership Committee, after which applicants may be invited for an informal discussion.

If both sides then wish to continue the process, the application is formally discussed by the Court. With Court approval, the applicant is then invited to join the Company, pay the quarterage (annual subscription) and asked to swear an oath of loyalty to the Company, The City of London and His Majesty the King.

The cost

The annual quarterage to become a Freeman of the Company is currently £240.

We also ask new members to make a minimum contribution of £100 to the Company's Charitable Trust. The annual rate for a Future Freeman is £40.
